THE SCHOOL
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Will provide a wide range of activities beyond timetabled lessons.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Will record all attendance and punctuality for morning and afternoon sessions each day.
COMMUNICATION
Will provide regular reports on student progress in the form of Progress Reports/Full Reports/ Consultative.
Will respond swiftly to contact made with the school, through the Form Tutor or the person best able to help.
CONDUCT
Will provide a clear code of conduct for students based on the encouragement of self-discipline and common sense and the equal entitlement of all students to a happy and civilised existence in the school.
Will provide passes for those allowed home at lunchtime.
ENVIRONMENT
Will provide a safe and stimulating environment and encourage students to take responsibility for care of the school and local community.
EQUIPMENT
Will provide books, worksheets, folders, paper and most technical and scientific equipment required.
Will provide an equipment list to cover all other items needed for lessons.
HOMEWORK
Will set varied and appropriate homework tasks for all students.
Will provide after-school facilities to help students with their work.
Will provide a homework diary where the timetable is recorded, and which the Form Tutor checks and signs each week.
LEARNING
Will provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all students regardless of their ability, encouraging and rewarding excellence.
UNIFORM
Will provide a clear list of uniform requirements, keeping this as inexpensive, and as similar for boys and girls, as possible.
Will provide a PE kit list, to cover requirements for all activities.
STUDENTS
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Will consider participating in and supporting activities beyond normal lessons
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Will aim for 100^ attendance.
Will bring a letter to explain any absence if too ill to attend.
Will be on the school site before the morning and afternoon sessions which begin at 8.40 am & 2.15 pm (and throughout lunchtime for those at school for lunch)
COMMUNICATION
Will keep parents, teachers and other students informed of issues they need to know or matters with which the student needs some help.
CONDUCT
Will behave in a responsible, considerate and safe manner throughout the school day, both on and off the school site.
Will treat others with respect at all times.
Will remain on the school site or be at home throughout lunchtime.
ENVIRONMENT
Will treat the school site, the buildings and the local community with respect at all times.
EQUIPMENT
Will arrive fully equipped for all lessons and activities involved in the school day.
HOMEWORK
Will write all set tasks in the diary and complete them on time to the best of their ability.
Will see teachers if the work set is posing problems.
Will keep the diary up-to-date, showing it to teachers and parents when required.
LEARNING
Will work hard to achieve results they feel proud of in all aspects of their learning.
UNIFORM
Will wear full school uniform to and from school and throughout the day.
Will bring the correct PE kit to each PE lesson, together with a note from parents if injured or too unwell to participate.
PARENTS
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
Will encourage the student to participate in and support the clubs, activities and events organised by the school.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Will encourage 100% attendance and punctuality. Will provide a letter on the day of a student’s return to school if they have been too unwell to attend or ring the school beforehand.
Will avoid any other absence, such as family holidays, whenever possible, as this would affect learning.
COMMUNICATION
Will inform the school of issues relating to the student’s progress and work with the school to promote the close cooperation of student, home and school which brings success.
CONDUCT
Will work with the school to encourage each student to behave responsibly throughout the day both on the school site and in the community.
Will clarify whether the student is to be in school or at home, throughout lunchtime.
ENVIRONMENT
Will encourage students to respect the environment both in and out of school.
EQUIPMENT
Will ensure that the student has all equipment necessary to do well both in and beyond lessons each day.
HOMEWORK
Will provide facilities and support needed for the student to complete tasks successfully.
Will check that homework is being recorded and completed and sign the diary each week.
LEARNING
Will provide support and guidance to help the student achieve the best results possible and to enjoy their learning.
UNIFORM
Will ensure that the student leaves home in full school uniform each day and with PE kit when this is required.
Will provide a note if the student is too unwell to participate in PE, confirmed by a doctor if a long-term problem.
